The contract of sale
A Greek property trancaction is valid when a notarized contract of sale exist. The contract should include accurate description of the property, the sale price and the date of its deposit, rescission rights and contractual penalties in case of late payment and/or rescission of the contract of sale stipulated.
Register of titles in Greece
An entry in the Land register can be verified by means of the potential owner’s name and any encumbrances, easements etc can be detected.
Representation by lawyers
The contracts of sale in Greece should be notarized in presence of lawyers. Necessarily, they carry out the searches with the Land register, they draw up and sigh the contracts of sale. The law society contribute a specific fee for the lawyer’s assistance.
